Sorry Teens! Tinder Raises Age Limit From 13 to 18

Tinder will no longer allow anyone under the age of 18 to use its service.

The new age restriction on Tinder will go into effect sometime next week. As it is now, the app lets users as young as 13 search for connections. However, they can only connect with those ranging in age from 13 to 17.

Tinder said that the change won’t have a large effect on its user base as only 3% of the profiles on the service are for users between the age of 13 and 17. The company has been reviewing this policy since early this year and said this is the right choice, reports TechCrunch.

The decision to increase the age limit on Tinder comes after several cases of adults posing as teenagers for hookups. There has also been complaints of older teens grooming those under the age of consent.
