Sales Tax Holiday 2016: A State-by-State Look

A variety of sales tax holidays are coming up in several of the nation’s states.

Sales Tax HolidayLess than 20 states are participated in offering tax breaks to its consumers, but the perks that are being offered by these states are quite helpful.

Here are the states, with their tax breaks and the dates in which you can access them:

  • Alabama – Aug. 7-9: Breaks on clothing, books and school supplies.
  • Arkansas – Aug. 6-7: Clothing, footwear and school supplies.
  • Connecticut – Aug. 21-27: Clothing and footwear.
  • Florida – Sept. 30-Oct. 2: Clothing, wallets and bags.
  • Georgia – July 30-31: Clothing, computers and school supplies.
  • Iowa – Aug. 5-6: Clothing, footwear, less than $100 per item.
  • Louisiana – Aug. 5-6: Most personal property.
  • Maryland – Aug. 14-20: Clothing and footwear
  • Mississippi – July 29-30: Clothing, calculators and computer software
  • Missouri – Aug. 5-7: Clothing, school supplies and computers.
  • New Mexico – Aug. 5-7: Clothing, school supplies and book bags.
  • Ohio – Aug. 5-7: Clothing, school supplies and school instructional material.
  • Oklahoma – Aug. 5-7: Clothing and footwear
  • South Carolina – Aug. 5-7: Clothing, computers and bed items.
  • Tennessee – July 29-31: Clothing and computers.
  • Texas – Aug. 5-7: Clothing, footwear and school supplies.
  • Virginia – Aug. 5-7: Clothing, generators and school supplies.
