Starting on Oct. 16, 2017, BlackBerry Ltd will no longer be listed on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the BBRY stock ticker. It will instead shift to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) where it will trade under the BB stock ticker.

BlackBerry Ltd notes that it will continue to trade on the NASDAQ under the BBRY stock ticker until its makes the switch to the NYSE. It also says that there will be no change to its listing on the TSX stock market. The shift to the BB stock ticker makes sense as this is what the company trades under on the TSX exchange.

BlackBerry Ltd also says that it will be celebrating the switch to the NYSE stock exchange on Oct. 16. This will have representatives from the company ringing the NYSE opening bell at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time.

“We are honored to have BlackBerry join the NYSE community,” Tom Farley, President of the NYSE, said in a statement. “We look forward to supporting BlackBerry’s continued growth and providing the unique benefits of our market, solutions and community to the company and its shareholders.”

BlackBerry Ltd first joined the NASDAQ exchange in 1999. At this time, the company was still going by Research In Motion and using the RIMM stock ticker. It’s name and ticker have changed since then as the company has been focusing on turning around its business.

BBRY stock was down 1% as of noon Tuesday.

As of this writing, William White did not hold a position in any of the aforementioned securities.
