Construction of the California bullet train will start this week in Fresno.
The California bullet train project has been delayed for two years amid opposition from politicians. The first track will stretch 29 miles and setup of the first system is expected to take 14 years, reports The Los Angeles Times.
The cost of the California bullet train project is $68 billion. However, the project is only estimated to have half the funding needed by the time the project is completed. Several Democrats have come out in support of the project while several Republicans stand opposed to it, reports L.A. Times.
The final goal of the project is to connect the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles. The track would stretch 800 and the bullet train would travel at speeds of 200 mph, reports
