Oprah’s Book Club 2015 is looking at Ruby by Cynthia Bond.

The new title added to Oprah’s Book Club 2015 is Cynthia Bond’s debut piece. Ruby is a love story that tells the tale of an abused black woman living in Texas who starts to fall in love with a man. The book is the first in a planned trilogy and readers will have to wait to get the answers to many questions about the story, Oprah said on her website.

Oprah interviewed Bond about her book and the author said she never had any intention of writing a novel. The author said she always wanted to be an actor, but after 10 years in NYC and moving to L.A., she realized it wasn’t for her.

The new book on Oprah’s Book Club 2015 currently has a rating of four out of five stars on

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN). One user called it “poetic, mystical, and magical.”
