The prestigious publication has chosen an emoji as the word of the year
. The ‘tears of joy’ emotional icon is the most relevant or important symbol of the year, according to Oxford Dictionaries.
The ‘tears of joy’ emoji was chosen following an analysis of words, emojis or icons chosen as the one that “best reflected the ethos, mood, and preoccupations of 2015.”
