GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO) has teamed up with 100 companies to put its cameras everywhere.
The move is part of the company’s new developer program, which is designed to add a new platform with GoPro that third-party developers can use to advance their products.
Now, these companies can create mobile apps, camera accessories, and physical mounts for GoPro products. Others can now build on to and connect to GoPro devices with their new products.
CEO Nick Woodman spoke of the matter, stating that the GoPro Developer Program is a celebration of the camera boom occurring in the tech industry. The company is making itself available to the developer community with new developer toolkits.
The action camera manufacturer hopes the move will encourage more third-party camera manufacturers to build accessories and cameras that will help consumers capture their life in easy and exciting ways.
GPRO stock is down 0.7 Thursday.
