BMW self-driving cars will be a reality in half a decade.
The luxury carmaker announced that in 2021, it will roll out a completely autonomous vehicle called the i NEXT, which will also be electric.
CEO Harald Krueger announced the vehicle, which will feature a brand new interior, digital connectivity, lightweight in design and fully autonomous capabilities.
Ahead of the BMW self-driving cars will be a couple of electric vehicles, including i8 Roadster, slated for a 2018 release.
The company has tested the waters in autonomous driving before, including a 2011 test on the A9 Autobahn in Germany.
