Fuel System Solutions (FSYS) makes alternative fuel components for use in transportation, industrial and power generation industries around the world. The stock got creamed after the company’s last earnings report on March 5, and it’s down 55% year-to-date.

During the past week, options volume — specifically for the calls — has picked up with market participants filling up on the FSYS April 12.50 (JQQDV) and 15 (JQQDC) Calls.

Today, the stock is up 7% to $14 and the options volume is running two-times normal levels. The April 15 Calls are the most active today, with 2,248 contracts trading around 85 cents.

FSYS might just be bouncing from oversold levels and/or garnering interest as part of the alternative energy stocks or there could be something bigger biting. We can’t say for cetain, but maybe it has something to do with the Pickens Plan. Whatever the case, option players are saying to pay attention.
