Market researcher company Nielsen has revealed the best-selling products of the last two years. Since products don’t usually hit their stride until their second year, using information from the last two years is an effective way of measuring the hottest new products in the market right now.
Advertising Age has released a list of the 14 products that have produced the highest two-year revenues out of over 3,400 products released in 2011. Here’s the list of the top ten products from the list:
- Dannon Oikos Greek Yogurt – $735 to $745 million. The French company is the fastest-growing yogurt seller right now, and its Greek yogurt brand tops the list as the best-selling new product.
- Allegra Allergy – $680 to $690 million. Despite being a relatively late arrival in over-the-counter allergy medicines, the fast-acting Sanofi (SNY) product has made an impact in the market since its release.
- Monster Rehab – $535 to $545 million. The new energy drink that comes in workout bottles has been hailed by some as a good exercise booster, while others use it as a hangover cure.
- Downy Unstopables In-Wash Scent Boosters – $535 to $545 million. Named by Fortune in 2012’s “World’s Most Admired Companies” list, Procter & Gamble (PG) add this long-lasting fragrance to their list of successes.
- Mio Liquid Water Enhancer – $265 to $275 million. The compact and popular liquid water enhancer has been a massive success for Kraft Foods (KRFT).
- Colgate Optic White – $250 million to $260 million. The oral hygiene giants have cashed in with this teeth-whitening toothpaste that has appealed to consumers.
- Reese’s Minis – $230 million to $240 million. These bite-sized Hershey (HSY) chocolates have been selling better than any other candy in the market due to their taste and convenience.
- Magnum Ice Cream – $225 million to $235 million. This delicious treat has appealed to those who desired a delicious and sophisticated ice cream.
- Sparkling Ice – $215 to $225 million. These carbonated drinks produced by privately-owned Talking Rain have been popular among those seeking a lighter soda.
- Fiber One 90-Calorie Brownies – $210 million to $220 million. Health-conscious individuals looking for low-calorie brownies have been gobbling up this General Mills (GIS) product.
