Bitcoin News: First Bitcoin ATMs Coming to Several U.S. Cities

The latest bitcoin news involves a new and easier way to buy and sell the virtual currency.

Bitcoin NewsLas Vegas-based Robocoin is installing bitcoin ATMs in Seattle and Austin, Texas in an attempt to make bitcoin exchange easier. The kiosks require users to scan some form of government-issued identification such as a driver’s license or passport to verify their identity.

Bitcoin ATMs will allow people to buy more bitcoin by transferring funds or using a virtual wallet on their smartphones. The kiosks also give people the option to swap bitcoin for cash.

Robocoin made bitcoin news last fall when it installed its first bitcoin ATM in Vancouver. The company is also opening one in Calgary, Alberta and eventually Asia and Europe.

Bitcoins are currently valued at $636 apiece.
