Twitter (TWTR) came out with the six-second video app Vine about a year ago and some companies are starting to use it as an advertising tool.

VineThere are several companies using Vine as a major part of their marketing plan including Target (TGT), according to HootSuite. The six-second format has become a popular way to make funny videos but it’s quickly becoming much more than that.

Target has been successful in creating seasonal videos to fit different occasions. From Thanksgiving to Halloween to Christmas, the chain is constantly releasing creative six-second videos to advertise itself. As you can see in this video, Target is advertising Black Friday as a horse race—the winner finds the best deals. TGT stock is down over 1.1% Thursday. Showing is always better than telling.
