- Vale S.A. (VALE): VALE stock is up 1.5%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Newmont Mining Corp (NEM): NEM stock is up 1.3% today.
- AK Steel Holding Corp (AKS): AKS stock is up 0.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Pohang Iron & Steel Co. (PKX): PKX stock is up 1.0% today.
- Compass Minerals Intl Inc (CMP): CMP stock is up 1.0% today.
- Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (CLF): CLF stock is up 0.8% today.
- Century Aluminum Company (CENX): CENX stock is up 1.1% today.
- Teck Resources Ltd (TCK): TCK stock is up 0.9% today.
- Syngenta Ag (SYT): SYT stock is up 0.8% today.
Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:
- Terra Nitrogen Company L.P. (TNH): TNH stock is down 2.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Valhi Inc (VHI): VHI stock is down 2.8% to a new 52-week low of $7.97.
- Trex Company (TREX): TREX stock is down 3.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Polypore International Inc (PPO): PPO stock is down 2.5% today.
- Ferro Corp (FOE): FOE stock is down 2.5%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Olin Corp (OLN): OLN stock is down 2.2% today.
- Kapstone Paper and Packaging Corp (KS): KS stock is down 2.1% today.
- Rockwood Holdings (ROC): ROC stock is down 2.4% today.
- Om Group (OMG): OMG stock is down 2.1%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Stepan Company (SCL): SCL stock is down 2.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
