More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.2%, the Nasdaq declined 0.9% and the S&P 500 was down 0.2%.

- Dynegy Inc (DYN): DYN stock is up 5.1% to a new 52-week high of $27.61.
- Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP (BIP): BIP stock is up 1.9% today.
- Boardwalk Pipeline Partners L.P. (BWP): BWP stock is up 1.1% today and up 20.6% in the last month.
- Atmos Energy Corp (ATO): ATO stock is up 0.7% to a new 52-week high of $50.39.
- Centrais Elc Braz Pfb B Elbras (EBR): EBR stock is up 0.6% today and up 37.5% in the last month.
- Spectra Energy Corp (SE): SE stock is up 0.5% today.
- Newjersey Resources Corp (NJR): NJR stock is up 0.4% today.
- Western Gas Partners LP (WES): WES stock is up 0.4%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Alliant Energy Corp (LNT): LNT stock is up 0.4% today.
- Mge Energy Inc (MGEE): MGEE stock is up 0.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
Some of the biggest losers among utilities stocks include:
- American States Water Company (AWR): AWR stock is down 1.5% today.
- Otter Tail Corp (OTTR): OTTR stock is down 1.4% today.
- Transalta Corp (TAC): TAC stock is down 0.8%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- El Paso Electric Company (EE): EE stock is down 0.7% today.
- Allete Inc (ALE): ALE stock is down 0.7% today.
- Laclede Group (LG): LG stock is down 0.6%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Firstenergy Corp (FE): FE stock is down 0.4%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Oneok Inc (OKE): OKE stock is down 0.4% today.
- Uil Holdings Corp (UIL): UIL stock is down 0.4% today.
- Piedmont Natural Gas Company (PNY): PNY stock is down 0.4% today.
