More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.5%, the Nasdaq was up 0.4% and the S&P 500 rose 0.5%.

- Huaneng Power Intl (HNP): HNP stock is up 3.3% today.
- Companhia Paranaense De Energia (ELP): ELP stock is up 3.0% today.
- El Paso Electric Company (EE): EE stock is up 2.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Cia De Saneamento Basico Do Estado (SBS): SBS stock is up 2.4% today.
- Cpfl Energia S.A. (CPL): CPL stock is up 2.3% today.
- Comp En De Mn Cemig Ads (CIG): CIG stock is up 1.9% today.
- Boardwalk Pipeline Partners L.P. (BWP): BWP stock is up 1.6% today and up 25.7% in the last month.
- Transalta Corp (TAC): TAC stock is up 1.7% today.
- Targa Resources (TRGP): TRGP stock is up 1.6% today.
Some of the biggest losers among utilities stocks include:
- El Paso Pipeline Partners LP (EPB): EPB stock is down 2.4%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Cheniere Energy Partners LP (CQP): CQP stock is down 1.1%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Calpine Corp (CPN): CPN stock is down 0.4% today.
- Cms Energy Corp (CMS): CMS stock is down 0.3% today.
- Cleco Power Llc (CNL): CNL stock is down 0.6% today.
- Edison International (EIX): EIX stock is down 0.5% today.
- Potomac Electric Power Company (POM): POM stock is down 0.1% today.
- Energy Transfer Partners (ETP): ETP stock is down 0.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Dominion Resources (D): D stock is down 0.2% today.
