On Wednesday, 3D Systems (DDD) announced that it has agreed to purchase Brazil-based additive manufacturing service bureau and 3D printing and scanning products distributor Robtec.

3d-systems-ddd-stock-3d-printing-companies DDDDDD said it would buy 70% of Robtec shares at the closing of the deal and the remaining stake in Robtec on the fifth anniversary of the transaction’s close. Terms of the Robtec acquisition were not revealed.

Robtec is the leading distributor of 3D printing and scanning products on Latin America. DDD said it expects the deal to be completed within the next three months. The acquisition is anticipated to boost DDD’s cash generation and add to DDD’s non-GAAP EPS within the first year after the purchase is completed.

DDD stock sank modestly in Wednesday morning trading. Over the past 12 months, DDD shares have gained more than 35%.
