More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.1%, the Nasdaq fell 0.8% and the S&P 500 was down 0.1%.
Some of the biggest gainers among energy stocks include:
- Anadarko Petroleum Corp (APC): APC stock is up 14.5% today on 9 times normal volume.
- Encana Corp (ECA): ECA stock is up 2.9% to a new 52-week high of $22.05.
- Matador Resources Company (MTDR): MTDR stock is up 2.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Eqt Corp (EQT): EQT stock is up 1.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Sm Energy Company (SM): SM stock is up 1.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Cabot Oil & Gas Corp (COG): COG stock is up 1.6%, marking the sixth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Clayton Williams Energy (CWEI): CWEI stock is up 1.6% to $114.10, near the 52-week high of $114.46.
- Nustar Gp Holdings Llc (NSH): NSH stock is up 1.5% to $34.22, near the 52-week high of $34.65.
- Targa Resources Partners LP (NGLS): NGLS stock is up 1.4%, marking the eighth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Apache Corp (APA): APA stock is up 1.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

- Gulfport Energy Corp (GPOR): GPOR stock is down 2.8% today.
- Key Energy Services (KEG): KEG stock is down 2.0% today.
- Interoil Corp (IOC): IOC stock is down 1.7% today.
- Nabors Industries (NBR): NBR stock is down 1.7% today.
- Crestwood Equity Partners LP (CEQP): CEQP stock is down 1.5% today on 3 times normal volume.
- Magnum Hunter Resources Corp (MHR): MHR stock is down 1.5% today.
- Ep Energy Corp (EPE): EPE stock is down 1.4% today.
- Noble Corp (NE): NE stock is down 1.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Cimarex Energy Co (XEC): XEC stock is down 1.4% today.
- Dril-Quip (DRQ): DRQ stock is down 1.3% today.
