More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.2%, the Nasdaq pushed 1.0% higher and the S&P 500 climbed 0.2%.

- Seadrill Limited (SDRL): SDRL stock is up 3.8% today.
- Tidewater Inc (TDW): TDW stock is up 2.9%, marking the eighth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Ensco Plc (ESV): ESV stock is up 2.9% today.
- Noble Corp (NE): NE stock is up 2.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Peabody Energy Corp (BTU): BTU stock is up 2.4% today on 3 times normal volume.
- Holly Energy Partners L.P. (HEP): HEP stock is up 2.3% today.
- Ocean Rig Udw Inc (ORIG): ORIG stock is up 2.1% today on 5 times normal volume.
- Ngl Energy Partners LP (NGL): NGL stock is up 1.9% today.
- Pacific Drilling S.A. (PACD): PACD stock is up 1.9% today on 2 times normal volume.
Some of the biggest losers among energy stocks include:
- Precision Drilling Corp (PDS): PDS stock is down 3.7% today.
- C&J Energy Services Inc (CJES): CJES stock is down 2.7% today.
- Exco Resources NL (XCO): XCO stock is down 2.5%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Key Energy Services (KEG): KEG stock is down 2.2% today.
- Halliburton Company (HAL): HAL stock is down 1.9% today.
- Nabors Industries (NBR): NBR stock is down 1.8% today.
- Legacy Reserves LP (LGCY): LGCY stock is down 1.7% today.
- Laredo Petroleum Holdings Inc (LPI): LPI stock is down 1.7% today.
- Alon USA Energy (ALJ): ALJ stock is down 1.6% today.
- Sandridge Energy Inc (SD): SD stock is down 1.6% today.
