Basic materials stocks declined on Wall Street on Tuesday, down 0.5%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.6%, the Nasdaq fell 0.4% and the S&P 500 was down 0.6%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

  • Grupo Simec S.A. De C.V. (SIM): SIM stock is up 2.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
  • Murphy USA Inc. Common Stock Wh (MUSA): MUSA stock is up 0.8% today and up 20.0% in the last month.
  • Pan American Silver (PAAS): PAAS stock is up 0.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

  • Valhi Inc (VHI): VHI stock is down 8.7% to a new 52-week low of $6.00.
  • Fibria Celulose S.A. (FBR): FBR stock is down 4.3% to a new 52-week low of $9.14.
  • Teck Resources Ltd (TCK): TCK stock is down 2.8% today.
  • Simpson Manufacturing Company (SSD): SSD stock is down 2.8% today.
  • Clearwater Paper Corp (CLW): CLW stock is down 2.8% today.
  • Calgon Carbon Corp (CCC): CCC stock is down 2.7% today.
  • Ternium S.A. (TX): TX stock is down 2.7% today.
  • Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (CLF): CLF stock is down 2.7%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
  • Alcoa Inc (AA): AA stock is down 2.7% today.
  • H. B. Fuller Company (FUL): FUL stock is down 2.6% today.
