Dubai police are already making plans for how they can use Google (GOOG) Glass even though it isn’t available outside of America, yet.
According to The Times of India, Dubai police are planning to use two specific apps in conjunction with Google Glass. The first app will allow police to take pictures of traffic offenders and upload them into the law enforcement’s system. The second app will help police identify wanted cars.
The first app works by allowing Dubai police officers to capture images of traffic violators by tapping on the side of their Google Glass. The second app will automatically record a car’s license plate numbers just by looking at it. these numbers are then ran against ones stored in the police department’s database, The Verge notes.
The Dubai police will test these new apps out with a few models of Google Glass. If the police department find the devices to be useful enough, it may order more of them. The Dubai police said that they like to keep up with new technology and stay up-to-date, The Times of India notes.
