Basic materials stocks remained flat on Thursday morning on Wall Street.
More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.2%, the Nasdaq declined 0.3% and the S&P 500 fell 0.2%.
Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:
- Dominion Diamond Corp (DDC): DDC stock is up 3.7% today.
- Yamana Gold (AUY): AUY stock is up 2.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- New Gold Inc (NGD): NGD stock is up 3.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Iamgold Corp (IAG): IAG stock is up 2.6%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- W.R. Grace & Company (GRA): GRA stock is up 2.0% today.
- Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (AEM): AEM stock is up 2.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- First Majestic Silver (AG): AG stock is up 1.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Eldorado Gold Corp (EGO): EGO stock is up 1.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Lyondellbasell Industries Nv (LYB): LYB stock is up 1.1% to $100.30, near the 52-week high of $101.00.
- Kinross Gold Corp (KGC): KGC stock is up 1.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:
- Stillwater Mining Company (SWC): SWC stock is down 4.7% today.
- Rio Tinto Plc (RIO): RIO stock is down 2.5% today.
- Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (CLF): CLF stock is down 2.4% today and down 20.5% in the last month.
- Vale S.A. (VALE): VALE stock is down 2.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- National Steel Corp (SID): SID stock is down 1.9% today.
- Commercial Metals Company (CMC): CMC stock is down 1.9% today.
- Scotts Miracle-Gro Company (SMG): SMG stock is down 1.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Rexnord Corp (RXN): RXN stock is down 2.1% today.
- Teck Resources Ltd (TCK): TCK stock is down 1.7% today.
- Steel Dynamics (STLD): STLD stock is down 2.0% today.
