It takes a lot of energy to keep the world humming along. Unfortunately for anyone trying to heat their home or fill up their gas tank, that energy is getting to be a wee bit more expensive lately. But as an investor, it’s actually been a pretty good ride. And that ride could be continuing throughout the year — both fundamentally and technically. Here’s J.C. Parets at All-Star Charts with a look at the relative break out potential in the energy sector.

The Telegraph (Andrew Critchlow): Aside from rising energy prices, that mess in Iraq could destroy the world’s economic growth.

Breakout! (Rick Newman): However, the chaos in Iraq won’t necessarily mean an immediate surge in oil prices.

New Scientist (Debora MacKenzie): The chaos is creating a problem in another way, though. All of Iraq’s major rivers and shipping ways have been captured by extremists.
