More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.0%, the Nasdaq was up 1.6% and the S&P 500 pushed 1.0% higher.

• Greenhill & Co. Inc (GHL): GHL stock is up 2.6% today.

• The Charles Schwab Corp (SCHW): SCHW stock is up 2.6% today.

• First American Corp (FAF): FAF stock is up 2.5% today.

• ING Group N.V. (ING): ING stock is up 2.3% today.

• Investors Bancorp (ISBC): ISBC stock is up 2.3% today.

• Westpac Banking Corp (WBK): WBK stock is up 2.2% today.

• Cno Financial Group (CNO): CNO stock is up 2.2% today.

• First Tennessee National Corp (FHN): FHN stock is up 2.2% today.

Some of the biggest losers among financial stocks include:

• Kayne Anderson MLP Investment Company (KYN): KYN stock is down 0.6% today.

• Corpbanca (BCA): BCA stock is down 0.6%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Axis Capital Holdings (AXS): AXS stock is down 0.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Templeton Global (GIM): GIM stock is down 0.4% today.

• Gamco Global Gold Natural Resources (GGN): GGN stock is down 0.3% today.

• Alliancebernstein Income Fund Inc (ACG): ACG stock is down 0.3% today.

• Calamos Strategic Total Return Fund (CSQ): CSQ stock is down 0.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
