Basic materials stocks declined broadly on Wall Street so far on Thursday, with the sector seeing an overall decline of 0.5%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.6%, the Nasdaq was down 0.7% and the S&P 500 fell 0.6%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Ferro Corp (FOE): FOE stock is up 5.6% today.

• Century Aluminum Company (CENX): CENX stock is up 5.1% today and up 21.3% in the last month.

• Curtiss-Wright Corp (CW): CW stock is up 3.5%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Goldcorp Inc (GG): GG stock is up 1.3% today.

• Intrepid Potash Inc (IPI): IPI stock is up 1.3% today.

• Syngenta Ag (SYT): SYT stock is up 1.2% today.

• Vale S.A. (VALE): VALE stock is up 1.0% today.

• Chemtura Corp (CHMT): CHMT stock is up 0.8% today.

• Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (CLF): CLF stock is up 0.7% today.

• Yamana Gold (AUY): AUY stock is up 0.7% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Kapstone Paper and Packaging Corp (KS): KS stock is down 10.5% today.

• Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (AEM): AEM stock is down 6.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Cvr Partners LP Common Units R (UAN): UAN stock is down 6.2% today.

• Stillwater Mining Company (SWC): SWC stock is down 5.1% today.

• Cabot Corp (CBT): CBT stock is down 5.0%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Harmony Gold Mining Co. Ltd (HMY): HMY stock is down 3.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Glatfelter (GLT): GLT stock is down 2.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Anglogold Ashanti Ltd (AU): AU stock is down 2.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Gold Fields Ltd (GFI): GFI stock is down 2.5%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Hecla Mining Company (HL): HL stock is down 3.0% today.
