Anthony Cumia, a co-host on SiriusXM’s Opie & Anthony, was fired on Thursday following a racist Twitter (TWTR) rant.

twtr-twitter-anthony-cumiaAnthony Cumia’s racist rant was the result of an alleged attack by a black woman in Times Square. He claims that the woman attacked him while he was taking pictures in the area. He has since deleted his offensive Tweets from Twitter, reports The New York Times.

While Anthony Cumia may have deleted his racist rant from Twitter, he didn’t do it before someone took screen shots of it. These screen shots can be seen over at Gawker, but be warned, there is very offensive language in his Tweets.

The future of Opie & Anthony is currently unknown. SiriusXM has yet to comment on what will happen to the show. It has been running with the radio broadcaster since 2004, NYT notes.

Following the news that Anthony Cumia had been fired from Sirius over his rant, a Change.org petition was started to get him his job back. The petition currently has over 13,000 signatures and claims that Cumia shouldn’t have been terminated due to comments made on his personal Twitter account.
