More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.2%, the Nasdaq declined 0.1% and the S&P 500 fell 0.2%.

• AK Steel Holding Corp (AKS): AKS stock is up 1.8% today.

• Novagold Resources Inc (NG): NG stock is up 0.8% today.

• Aluminum Corporation of China Ltd (ACH): ACH stock is up 0.7% today.

• Gold Fields Ltd (GFI): GFI stock is up 0.7% today.

• Hudbay Minerals Inc (HBM): HBM stock is up 0.7% today.

• Mueller Water Products (MWA): MWA stock is up 0.7% today.

• Sinopec Shangai Petrochemical Company Ltd (SHI): SHI stock is up 0.6% today.

• United States Steel Corp (X): X stock is up 0.5% today.

• Eldorado Gold Corp (EGO): EGO stock is up 0.5% today.

• Pohang Iron & Steel Co. (PKX): PKX stock is up 0.3% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• National Steel Corp (SID): SID stock is down 2.8% today.

• Glatfelter (GLT): GLT stock is down 1.7% today.

• Kapstone Paper and Packaging Corp (KS): KS stock is down 1.3% today.

• Bhp Billiton Plc (BBL): BBL stock is down 1.3% today.

• Ferro Corp (FOE): FOE stock is down 1.3% today.

• Trex Company (TREX): TREX stock is down 1.3% today.

• Rexnord Corp (RXN): RXN stock is down 1.3% today.

• Rio Tinto Plc (RIO): RIO stock is down 1.3% today.

• Hecla Mining Company (HL): HL stock is down 1.2% today.

• Commercial Metals Company (CMC): CMC stock is down 1.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
