Sports fans all over the country are delighted to see that once again football is back and will devote Thursdays through Mondays to football.

Football stocks to buyYard work and chores will be done at the crack of dawn, or just ignored, so fans can get to the stadium, the couch or the local sports bar in time for pregame. We are a nation of football junkies, and a few companies are stocks to buy as they are well positioned to take advantage of the return of the game.

Here are some stocks to buy with football back in season:

Walt Disney (DIS)

The biggest beneficiary of the return of football is the Walt Disney (DIS). While the first thing that comes to mind when you say Disney is a mouse and amusement parks, Disney owns the powerhouse ESPN network.

In addition to wall-to-wall coverage, ESPN has one of the highest rated pregame shows as well as the Monday Night Football broadcast. ESPN also has extensive coverage of college football and air several games every week. Of course, Disney also owns ABC, which has been broadcasting college games every Saturday for decades.

Disney has been posting stellar results, and football is just going to make it better. Portfolio Grader updated DIS stock to an “A” last month and is a “strong buy” as football season kicks off.

Buffalo Wilds Wings (BWLD)

The folks down at Buffalo Wild Wings (BWLD) are excited to see the games being again as well.  Football is a community event, and people love to congregate with friends at a sport bar for chicken wings, beer and football.

From November to February last year, Buffalo Wild Wings was a top rated stock, and I do not think that is an accident. Buffalo Wild Wings does more business during the football season than the rest of the year.

As the season crept closer, Portfolio Grader upgraded BWLD stock to a “B” last week and is a “buy.” As Thursday nights through Monday nights mean beer and wings, I would not be shocked to see the strong revenue surge push BWLD stock to a “strong buy.”

Beers and Snacks

Football season means beer and snacks. Beer companies should see an upswing in sales as the weekends are two days longer to include more football.  Molson Coors (TAP) is well positioned for the season with its lineup of Coors and Miller products, especially the light beer.

You have to watch those calories so you can have more of the snacks from Pepsi’s (PEP) Frito Lay Brand. Both stocks are ranked “B” as we start the season and should see some revenue gains from tailgating and football parties this fall.

Football is back. Load your portfolio with these stocks to buy that can even get an extra little kick from football. So, grab a cold one, some Fritos, enjoy the games and watch profits pile up in your portfolio with these stocks to buy.
