apple-rumors-apple-aapl-press-event-octoberEvent: It’s rumored that Apple (AAPL) will show off a new generation of iPads at an event later this month, reports Macworld. According to the rumors, the company will hold a press event on Otc. 16 to reveal the new iPads. The event is rumored to take place at the Town Hall Auditorium, which is a small theater on the company’s campus. This would limit the crowd to being much smaller than what was at the company’s Sept. event. The new iPads are rumored to have Touch ID, faster processors and a thinner body.

iMac: A new rumor claims that Apple’s 27-inch iMac will be upgraded to a Retina display, AppleInsider notes. This rumor claims that the 27-inch iMac will be the only one in the line to get the Retina treatment. It’s also rumored that the new 27-inch iMac will have a 5K screen resolution of 5120 by 2880 pixels. This is twice the resolution of the current 27-inch iMac. The new 27-inch iMac may be showed off at a press event that Apple is expected to hold in Oct.

Plus: A new report claims that Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus will make up 60% of the company’s iPhone 6 shipments, reports MacRumors. This report is based on information collected from sources in the industry. According to these sources, shipments of parts for the iPhone 6 Plus are higher than those of the iPhone 6. This data is based on part shipping records from Foxconn and Pegatron. Foxconn is believed to be the supplier of the iPhone 6 Plus and Pegatron is believed to be the supplier of the iPhone 6.
