• Vale S.A. (VALE): VALE stock is up 5.2% today.

• Rio Tinto Plc (RIO): RIO stock is up 4.5% today.

• Teck Resources Ltd (TCK): TCK stock is up 4.0% today.

• Gold Fields Ltd (GFI): GFI stock is up 4.0% today.

• Bhp Billiton Limited (BHP): BHP stock is up 3.9% today.

• Sasol Ltd (SSL): SSL stock is up 3.8% today.

• Bhp Billiton Plc (BBL): BBL stock is up 3.5% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Methanex Corp (MEOH): MEOH stock is down 3.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Murphy USA Inc. Common Stock Wh (MUSA): MUSA stock is down 1.5% today.

• Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE): GPRE stock is down 1.5% today and down 28.0% in the last month.

• Owens-Illinois (OI): OI stock is down 1.2% today.

• Parker-Hannifin Corp (PH): PH stock is down 1.2% today.

• RBC Bearings Inc (ROLL): ROLL stock is down 1.1% today.

• Bemis Company (BMS): BMS stock is down 0.9% today.

• Packaging Corporation of America (PKG): PKG stock is down 0.9% today.

• Crown Cork & Seal Company (CCK): CCK stock is down 0.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Lyondellbasell Industries Nv (LYB): LYB stock is down 0.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
