More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average stayed level, the Nasdaq stayed the same and the S&P 500 was unchanged.
Some of the biggest gainers among energy stocks include:
- McDermott International (MDR): MDR stock is up 3.8% today.
- Precision Drilling Corp (PDS): PDS stock is up 3.7% today.
- Chesapeake Energy Corp (CHK): CHK stock is up 2.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Helix Energy Solutions Group (HLX): HLX stock is up 2.7% today.
- Petroleo Brasileiro S.A.- Petrobras (PBR): PBR stock is up 1.4% today.
- Breitburn Energy Partners L.P. (BBEP): BBEP stock is up 1.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Nabors Industries (NBR): NBR stock is up 1.7% today.
- Carrizo Oil & Gas (CRZO): CRZO stock is up 2.2%, marking the sixth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Petroleo Brasileiro S.A.- Petrobras (PBR.A): PBR.A stock is up 1.2% today.
- Bonanza Creek Energy Inc (BCEI): BCEI stock is up 2.8%, marking the sixth consecutive day the stock has increased.

- FMC Technologies (FTI): FTI stock is down 1.4% today.
- Talisman Energy Inc (TLM): TLM stock is down 0.9% today.
- Encana Corp (ECA): ECA stock is down 1.2% today.
