- Clearwater Paper Corp (CLW): CLW stock is up 3.8% today on 2 times normal volume.
- Gold Fields Ltd (GFI): GFI stock is up 2.3% today.
- Dominion Diamond Corp (DDC): DDC stock is up 1.5% today.
- Eldorado Gold Corp (EGO): EGO stock is up 1.3% today.
- Silver Wheaton Corp (SLW): SLW stock is up 0.9% today.
- Goldcorp Inc (GG): GG stock is up 0.8% today.
- Grupo Simec S.A. De C.V. (SIM): SIM stock is up 0.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Barrick Gold Corp (ABX): ABX stock is up 0.6% today.
- New Gold Inc (NGD): NGD stock is up 0.2% today.
- Simpson Manufacturing Company (SSD): SSD stock is up 0.2% today on 3 times normal volume.
Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:
- Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (CLF): CLF stock is down 5.9% today and down 32.9% in the last month.
- Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE): GPRE stock is down 5.6% today and down 21.0% in the last month.
- Minerals Technologies Inc (MTX): MTX stock is down 5.2% today on 3 times normal volume.
- United States Steel Corp (X): X stock is down 5.2% today.
- Valhi Inc (VHI): VHI stock is down 4.9% today.
- Globe Specialty Metals Inc (GSM): GSM stock is down 4.8%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Intrepid Potash Inc (IPI): IPI stock is down 4.6% today.
- Arcelormittal (MT): MT stock is down 4.0% today on 2 times normal volume.
- DOW Chemical Company (DOW): DOW stock is down 3.8% today on 2 times normal volume.
- Westlake Chemical Corp (WLK): WLK stock is down 3.6% today on 3 times normal volume.
