More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.9%, the Nasdaq pushed 1.1% higher and the S&P 500 increased 0.9%.

- Weatherford International Ltd (WFT): WFT stock is up 7.1% today.
- Schlumberger N.V. (SLB): SLB stock is up 7.6% today.
- Halliburton Company (HAL): HAL stock is up 6.6% today.
- Bonanza Creek Energy Inc (BCEI): BCEI stock is up 6.5%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Continental Resources (CLR): CLR stock is up 5.5%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Diamondback Energy Inc (FANG): FANG stock is up 6.5% today.
- Carrizo Oil & Gas (CRZO): CRZO stock is up 5.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Nabors Industries (NBR): NBR stock is up 5.4% today.
- RPC Inc (RES): RES stock is up 5.6% today.
Some of the biggest losers among energy stocks include:
- Rose Rock Midstream L.P. (RRMS): RRMS stock is down 1.8% today.
- Teekay Offshore Partners L.P. (TOO): TOO stock is down 1.3% today.
- Yanzhou Coal Mining Company (YZC): YZC stock is down 0.5% today.
