More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.8%, the Nasdaq was up 1.2% and the S&P 500 climbed 0.8%.

Some of the biggest gainers among healthcare stocks include:

  • Seattle Genetics (SGEN): SGEN stock is up 8.7% today.
  • Neurocrine Biosciences (NBIX): NBIX stock is up 5.8% today.
  • Ligand Pharmaceuticals Inc (LGND): LGND stock is up 4.4% today and up 22.6% in the last month.
  • Acadia Healthcare Company Inc (ACHC): ACHC stock is up 5.3% today and up 26.9% in the last month.
  • Select Medical Holdings Corp (SEM): SEM stock is up 4.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
  • Alnylam Pharmaceuticals (ALNY): ALNY stock is up 3.2% today and up 28.5% in the last month.
  • Anacor Pharmaceuticals (ANAC): ANAC stock is up 4.5% today and up 35.7% in the last month.
  • Genomic Health (GHDX): GHDX stock is up 2.9% today and up 28.0% in the last month.
  • Celldex Therapeutics Inc (CLDX): CLDX stock is up 3.5% today and up 34.9% in the last month.
