Twitter wants to release a report that fully details the governments surveillance of its users. The company claims that not being able to do so is unconstitutional and that the 1st Amendment gives it the right to release the report to its users, The Los Angeles Times notes.

Twitter sent a copy of its surveillance report to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on April 1. However, the company was told that it wouldn’t be allowed to release the report due to its confidential nature. The report details the number of National Security Letters and Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act orders the social media comapny received from from July 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013, reports Forbes.

Twitter filed its lawsuit against the U.S. Government with the U.S. District Court in Northern California on Tuesday. The company is suing the Department of Justice and the FBI. Other tech companies have also sued the government for the right to disclose information about its surveillance, L.A. Times notes.

TWTR stock is up 2% as of Wednesday morning.
