Whisper app denies a report from The Guardian regarding how it tracks its users’ locations.

Whisper appThe app — which advertises itself as “the best place to express yourself online” — allows users to send and receive messages anonymously.

The Guardian published an investigation on Whisper app, claiming that it’s tracking where its users are located without their permission. The app allegedly tracks users even when its mapping features are off.

The company said in a statement that it does not collect data from its users. “There is nothing in our geolocation data that can be tied to an individual user and a user’s anonymity is never compromised.”

Whisper slammed The Guardian for its report, calling it “a pack of vicious lies.”
