Amazon Fresh: AMZN Begins Grocery Delivery in Philadelphia

Amazon (AMZN) Fresh, the company’s grocery delivery service, has expanded to Philadelphia.

The service allows users to place an order by 10:00 a.m. and receive it by diner time or order by 10:00 p.m. and have the shipment at their home by morning, reports Philly.com.

Amazon Prime members that wish to use AmazonFresh get their orders for free until the end of the year. After this an additional $299 membership is required. Other users can get free deliveries when ordering over $35 worth of items. The service isn’t limited to groceries and can also be used to ship electronics, toys and other items, Philly.com notes.

According to the Amazon Fresh website, the service offers two types of delivery. One type is called “Doorstep Delivery” and it allows customers to have an item delivered on their doorstep during a three-hour period of their choosing. The second delivery option is called “Attended Delivery” and it allows users to have items delivered to them in a one-hour window of their choosing.
