The release of 8.1.1 is supposed to fix these issues. However, tests conducted by Ars Technica showed that many of the older devices still showed choppy and laggy animations while using the new version of iOS 8. The publication did note that the update does offer improved performance, but only sometimes and it doesn’t last long due to the limited RAM in older devices.

Foxconn: Foxconn is building a new factory that will work solely on producing displays for Apple devices, AppleInsider notes. The new plant will cost $2.6 billion and will be operated by Foxconn’s Innolux. The factory will be located at the Kaohsiung Science Park campus in Southern Taiwan and will employ 2,300 workers. Installation of equipment in the factory is set to start next month. The company decided to open the factory after “an urgent request for exclusive capacity.”

Watch: Apple Watch is releasing next year and estimates on how many of the devices will sell in a 12-month period are in, reports BGR. Many are prediciting that the company will sell anywhere from 10 million to 40 million of the wearable devices. Morgan Stanley believes that 30 million units is a fair estimate, but that it could still be conservative. The analyst expects the wearable technology market to reach anywhere from 530 million to 1 billion units in 2020.
