Energy stocks declined broadly on Wall Street on Friday, with the sector seeing an overall decline of 6.4%.
More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.2%, the Nasdaq rose 0.5% and the S&P 500 was down 0.2%.
Only one stock in the energy sectors showed gains:
- Sunoco L.P. (SUN): SUN stock is up 0.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
Some of the biggest losers among energy stocks include:
- Newfield Exploration Company (NFX): NFX stock is down 16.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Qep Resources (QEP): QEP stock is down 15.5%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Denbury Resources (DNR): DNR stock is down 15.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Wpx Energy Inc. Common Stock W (WPX): WPX stock is down 15.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- RPC Inc (RES): RES stock is down 14.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Patterson-Uti Energy (PTEN): PTEN stock is down 13.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Diamondback Energy Inc (FANG): FANG stock is down 13.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Tidewater Inc (TDW): TDW stock is down 13.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Nabors Industries (NBR): NBR stock is down 12.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
