Is the stock market open on Thanksgiving?
Both major stock markets in the US have announced that they will honor the time-honored tradition and close during the holidays in 2014.
NASDAQ Stock Market — the largest exchange center in the US — included Thanksgiving in its holiday schedule for the year. The stock market will send alerts notifying customers of days in which trading will be closed.
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has also included Thanksgiving Day in its 2014 holiday schedule. “NYSE, NYSE MKT, NYSE MKT Options, NYSE Arca, NYSE Arca Options, and NYSE Bonds will observe U.S. holidays,” read a statement on their website.
