Alex from Target (TGT) has been trending on Twitter (TWTR), but what’s all the hubbub about?

Alex from Target is a young man that works at one of the retail chain’s locations. He was photographed by an Instagram user and quickly shot to fame. Alex has latched onto the fame and has now created a Tumblr account, reports USA Today.

Alex from Target even got a shout out from his employer. The retailer’s official Twitter account posted “We heart Alex, too! #alexfromtarget.” The young man was amused by the fact that people have also started creating fake account in his name, USA Today notes.

The surge of popularity surrounding Alex from Target has resulted in several other employees getting noticed on Twitter. There are now hashtags for #stevefromstarbucks, #stuartfromgoogle and others.
