More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.7%, the Nasdaq fell 1.1% and the S&P 500 was down 0.7%.

• Kinross Gold Corp (KGC): KGC stock is up 6.4% today and up 44.0% in the last month.

• Anglogold Ashanti Ltd (AU): AU stock is up 6.8% today.

• New Gold Inc (NGD): NGD stock is up 6.0% today.

• Eldorado Gold Corp (EGO): EGO stock is up 5.1% today and up 20.3% in the last month.

• Newmont Mining Corp (NEM): NEM stock is up 5.4% today.

• Goldcorp Inc (GG): GG stock is up 4.3% today.

• Silver Wheaton Corp (SLW): SLW stock is up 4.0% today and up 21.5% in the last month.

• Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (AEM): AEM stock is up 4.0% today.

• Randgold Resources Limited (GOLD): GOLD stock is up 3.7% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Sasol Ltd (SSL): SSL stock is down 5.6%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• United States Steel Corp (X): X stock is down 4.6%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Polypore International Inc (PPO): PPO stock is down 3.5%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Century Aluminum Company (CENX): CENX stock is down 4.9% today.

• Dover Corp (DOV): DOV stock is down 3.5%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• AK Steel Holding Corp (AKS): AKS stock is down 3.4% today and down 24.4% in the last month.

• Methanex Corp (MEOH): MEOH stock is down 2.7%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Circor International (CIR): CIR stock is down 2.4%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Murphy USA Inc. Common Stock Wh (MUSA): MUSA stock is down 3.5% today.

• Sinopec Shangai Petrochemical Company Ltd (SHI): SHI stock is down 2.8% today.
