More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.2%, the Nasdaq stayed level and the S&P 500 pushed 0.2% higher.

• FMC Corp (FMC): FMC stock is up 2.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc (POT): POT stock is up 1.9% today.

• Mueller Water Products (MWA): MWA stock is up 1.6% today.

• Balchem Corp (BCPC): BCPC stock is up 1.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Schweitzer-Mauduit International (SWM): SWM stock is up 1.4% today.

• H. B. Fuller Company (FUL): FUL stock is up 1.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Intrepid Potash Inc (IPI): IPI stock is up 1.2% today.

• Polypore International Inc (PPO): PPO stock is up 1.3% today.

• Lyondellbasell Industries Nv (LYB): LYB stock is up 1.4% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Barrick Gold Corp (ABX): ABX stock is down 3.8% today.

• Eldorado Gold Corp (EGO): EGO stock is down 3.8% today.

• Sasol Ltd (SSL): SSL stock is down 3.6% today and down 22.0% in the last month.

• Anglogold Ashanti Ltd (AU): AU stock is down 2.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Actuant Corp (ATU): ATU stock is down 2.8% today.

• Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (AEM): AEM stock is down 2.6% today.

• Kinross Gold Corp (KGC): KGC stock is down 2.6% today.

• Yamana Gold (AUY): AUY stock is down 2.7% today.

• Goldcorp Inc (GG): GG stock is down 2.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Pan American Silver (PAAS): PAAS stock is down 2.6% today.
