Basic materials stocks finished down broadly on Wall Street on Tuesday, with the sector seeing an overall decline of 0.8%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.8%, the Nasdaq was down 1.6% and the S&P 500 fell 0.8%.

• Clearwater Paper Corp (CLW): CLW stock is up 3.4% today.

• Greif Bros. Corp (GEF.B): GEF.B stock is up 2.7% today.

• Syngenta Ag (SYT): SYT stock is up 2.0% today.

• Sasol Ltd (SSL): SSL stock is up 1.9% today.

• Compass Minerals Intl Inc (CMP): CMP stock is up 1.9%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Chemtura Corp (CHMT): CHMT stock is up 1.8% today.

• Cabot Corp (CBT): CBT stock is up 1.6% today.

• Globe Specialty Metals Inc (GSM): GSM stock is up 1.4% today.

• Polyone Corp (POL): POL stock is up 1.4% today.

• Agrium Inc (AGU): AGU stock is up 1.2% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Gold Fields Ltd (GFI): GFI stock is down 2.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (AEM): AEM stock is down 1.8%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• DOW Chemical Company (DOW): DOW stock is down 1.7% today.

• Commercial Metals Company (CMC): CMC stock is down 1.5%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Celanese Corp (CE): CE stock is down 1.4%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Pan American Silver (PAAS): PAAS stock is down 1.3%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• FMC Corp (FMC): FMC stock is down 1.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Mueller Water Products (MWA): MWA stock is down 1.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
