GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) layoffs are expected to be announced later this week.

The GlaxoSmithKline layoffs are expected to take place at the company’s U.S. facilities. It’s U.S. division has been struggling lately. It’s unknown exactly what jobs will be hit by the layoffs, but they will be announced to employees on Wednesday, Reuters notes.

According to FierceBiotech, the GlaxoSmithKline layoffs are likely to occur mostly at the Research Triangle Park located in North Carolina. GSK has said that the plan will help remove “unnecessary complexity” from the company’s operations.

GSK shares were up 1% as of Monday afternoon.
