The Detroit Auto Show 2015 kicked off yesterday and everyone is talking about the Ford GT (F).
The event was open to the press yesterday and today and Ford previewed its latest supercar. Here are five things to know about the GT:
- The vehicle has a lightweight, carbon fiber build.
- It runs on a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that can produce more than 600 horsepower.
- Advanced aerodynamics highlight the Ford GT’s design–two seats, a deployable rear spoiler and scoops in the hood and sides.
- The automaker has yet to announce the price of the supercar but it is expected to be in the range of similar vehicles–$200,000 or so.
- The GT is one of 12 new performance vehicles Ford will release by 2020.
F stock is down 0.1% Tuesday.
