Launchpad Toys is the app developer behind Toontastic apps. These apps let kids create their own little shows by making scenes and recording their voices. There are several spinoff apps that have a focus on certain films, such as Dreamworks Animation’s (NASDAQ:DWA) Kung Fu Panda and Shrek, reports The Guardian.

Launchpad Toys announced that it’s joining Google on its company blog. It said that the deal will allow it to “create even more amazing creativity tools for kids.” The Toontastic app has only been available to users of a device running Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS, The Guardian notes.

Google has also confirmed the acquisition of Launchpad Toys. However, it has refused to say any more about the transaction. Launchpad Toys describes its app as a modern day version of a puppet show, reports Cnet.
