Google (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) is working on a way to allow Gmail users to pay bills through a service called “Pony Express.”

google-pony-express-goog-googlGoogle’s plans for Pony Express would make it so that users of Gmail didn’t have to go to their websites to pay their bills. The service would require several pieces of private information from users, including their Social Security Number, name and address, reports Recode.

According to Recode, Google is partnering with third-party vendors for its Pony Express service. One feature of the service allows users to split bills with other Gmail users. The payment system is expected to launch late this year, Recode notes.

Pony Express isn’t Google’s first step in adding a payment system to Gmail. There is also the company’s Google Wallet P2P, which allows users to send money to each other. This feature was launched a few years ago, reports Tech Times.
