Google (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) is catching flak for ads on its YouTube for Kids app.

These groups, including the Campaign for a Commercial Free Childhood and others, have filed objections over the ads with the FTC, reports CNNMoney.

Google on the other hand claims that it only shows ads that are appropriate for children. It also claims that ads approved for YouTube for Kids must meet strict standards before being allowed on the service, CNNMoney notes.

“It’s just one, long, uninterrupted ad,” Jeff Chester, Executive Director of Democratic Media, told USA Today. “It turns back the clock 30 years in terms of the role that advertising plays in kids programming.”
