Basic materials stocks remained flat so far on Monday on Wall Street.
More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.1%, the Nasdaq was up 0.4% and the S&P 500 rose 0.1%.
Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:
- Sasol Ltd (SSL): SSL stock is up 2.9% today.
- Cameco Corp (CCJ): CCJ stock is up 2.0% today.
- Newmont Mining Corp (NEM): NEM stock is up 1.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Aluminum Corporation of China Ltd (ACH): ACH stock is up 1.4% today and up 37.8% in the last month.
- Dover Corp (DOV): DOV stock is up 1.2% today.
- Valhi Inc (VHI): VHI stock is up 1.3% today.
- Vale S.A. (VALE): VALE stock is up 0.8% today.
- Greif Bros. Corp (GEF.B): GEF.B stock is up 1.1% today.
- Rexnord Corp (RXN): RXN stock is up 1.5% today.
- Simpson Manufacturing Company (SSD): SSD stock is up 1.1% today.
Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:
- Carpenter Technology Corp (CRS): CRS stock is down 4.0% today.
- Hudbay Minerals Inc (HBM): HBM stock is down 3.9% today.
- Bhp Billiton Plc (BBL): BBL stock is down 3.2% today.
- Teck Resources Ltd (TCK): TCK stock is down 2.6% today.
- Bhp Billiton Limited (BHP): BHP stock is down 2.7% today.
- Novagold Resources Inc (NG): NG stock is down 2.2% today.
- Barrick Gold Corp (ABX): ABX stock is down 2.1% today.
- Worthington Industries (WOR): WOR stock is down 2.0% today.
- Nucor Corp (NUE): NUE stock is down 1.7% today.
- Dominion Diamond Corp (DDC): DDC stock is down 1.7% today.
