Here are the top five favorites to win the Kentucky Derby 2015, as listed by Heavy.
- American Pharoah — This top pick will be rode by Victor Espinoza and belongs to Zayat Stables.
- Dortmund — Martin Garcia will be the jockey for this Kaleem Shah, Inc.-owned horse.
- Carpe Diem — John Velazquez will ride WinStar Farm, LLC & Stonestreet Stables LLC’s horse trained by Todd Pletcher.
- Frosted — The jockey for this horse is Joel Rosario, it’s owned by Godolphin and trained by Kiaran McLaughlin.
- Mubtaahij — Christophe Soumillon will be riding this horse, which is owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum and trained by Mike de Kock.
The Kentucky Derby 2015 will take place on Saturday and is set to start at 6:24 p.m. It’s being held at the Churchill Downs race track. General admission is $55 for tickets bought before race day and $60 for those bought day of.
